Leelalu Games · A free activity to share
Shape, color & size walk A little discovery, right where you are. Pick one activity, follow your child’s interest and finish whenever you like. No race, no test.
Choose a safe place and a few large objects. An adult chooses the items and stays close. Use large, lightweight objects that cannot fit in a child’s mouth, such as cushions or large books. No small parts, sharp edges or fragile items. Point instead of carrying; no climbing or reaching into unsafe places.
Ages 2–3 · Point together One thing to notice Find one shape. “Find a circle.” Point to a round part of something nearby. If helpful, show two safe objects and notice the shape together.
Choose red. Show two large items: one red, one a different color. Ask, “Which one is red?” Pointing is enough.
Notice big and small. Compare two clearly different-sized cushions. Ask, “Which is bigger?” Both objects should be large and safe.
Ages 4–5 · Let them choose A little more to explore Find three things. Look for three things that share a shape or color. Point to what matches; skip a shape you cannot find.
Make a size line. Arrange three large, safe, soft items from smaller to medium to bigger. If the differences are unclear, choose other items or use the circles below.
Make a clue. Take turns: “Find something round,” or “Find something red.” Help if asked, then swap roles.

For color play, use real objects or a color print. With a black-and-white print, use the outlines and size circles.
Compare the circles Point from smaller to medium to bigger. These are pictures, not objects to cut out.
A gentle place to finish. Name one thing you noticed, or simply say, “Thanks for exploring with me.” Stop if your child wants to stop. Another discovery can wait.
